The Health Information Resource CenterSM announced the winners of its 13th annual Web Health AwardsSM which honors the nation’s best digital health resources. The competition, which is held twice yearly, featured 17 entry categories, including blog, e-newsletter, interactive content, mobile application, social network, video, and website. A panel of 39 experts in digital health media served as judges and selected gold, silver, bronze, and merit winners from among more than 500 entries.

 

The Health Information Resource CenterSM (HIRC), organizer of the Web Health Awards, is a national information clearinghouse for professionals who work in consumer health fields.

The Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) Awards are produced by the Web Marketing Association to honor excellence in online advertising, recognize the individuals and organizations responsible, and showcase the best in award winning Internet advertising.

 

The Web Marketing Association (WMA) was founded in Boston in 1997 to help set a high standard for Internet marketing and corporate web development on the World Wide Web. Staffed by volunteers, this organization is made up of Internet marketing, advertising, PR and design professionals who share an interest for improving the quality of advertising, marketing and promotion used to attract visitors to corporate Web sites.

The eHealthcare Leadership Awards program was developed and first presented 11 years ago by eHealthcare Strategy & Trends, a leading industry resource published by Health Care Communications, Rye, NY.


Sites receiving the 2010 eHealthcare Leadership Awards were selected from nearly 1,300 entries. A total of 123 individuals familiar with healthcare and the Internet judged the entries.


Judges looked at how sites compared with others in their organization’s classification. They also reviewed sites based on a proprietary multi-point standard of Internet excellence. The best overall Internet site category, for example, had to pass muster on more than 40 factors.

The W³ Awards honors creative excellence on the web, and recognizes the creative and marketing professionals behind award winning sites, marketing programs, and video work created for the web.


In its fifth year the W³ Awards received over 3,000 entries from some of the best ad agencies, public relations firms, interactive agencies, designers, and creators worldwide.


The W³ is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a "Who's Who" of acclaimed media, interactive, advertising, and marketing firms. IAVA members include executives from organizations such as Alloy, Brandweek, Coach, Disney, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Estee Lauder, Fry Hammond Barr, HBO, Monster.com, MTV, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Victoria’s Secret, Wired, and Yahoo!.
